Hash Brown Crust Quiche

This hash brown crust quiche features a crispy potato base filled with fluffy eggs, creamy cheese, and fresh add-ins like green onions. Perfect for brunch, halal-friendly meals, or make-ahead breakfasts.

Ingredients

Shredded hash browns (thawed)

Cheddar cheese (shredded)

Melted butter

Garlic powder

Salt

Black pepper

Eggs

Milk or heavy cream

Green onions (chopped)

Paprika

Optional halal bacon or turkey bacon substitute

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  3. Press the thawed hash browns into the dish to form a crust, pressing up the sides.
  4. Brush the crust with melted butter and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Bake the crust for 20–25 minutes until lightly golden and crispy.
  6. While it bakes, whisk together the eggs, milk or cream, cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  7. Stir in chopped green onions and halal bacon substitute.
  8. Pour the egg mixture into the pre-baked crust.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for another 30–35 minutes, or until the center is set.
  10. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
