1 tablespoon olive oil or ghee
1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
2 garlic cloves, minced (optional)
250g (½ lb) lean ground beef (85–90%)
½ teaspoon ground paprika
½ teaspoon Lebanese 7-spice (or substitute cumin/allspice)
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Salt and black pepper to taste
4 large eggs
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and sauté for 2–3 minutes. Stir in garlic (if using) and cook until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, break it apart, and cook until browned (5–6 minutes).
- Add paprika, 7-spice, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mix and let spices toast for 1–2 minutes.
- Spread beef evenly in skillet and crack eggs directly on top.
- Lower heat and cook until egg whites are just set, yolks still runny (3–4 minutes).
- Remove from heat, garnish, and serve immediately with pita or rice.
