Ingredients
8–10 slices challah or brioche bread
2 large eggs
¼ cup whole milk (or dairy-free alternative)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter (for frying)
1–2 tablespoons canola oil (for extra crispiness)
5 oz cream cheese, softened
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon whole milk
For the Churro Coating:
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Make the custard – Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- Prepare the filling – Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
- Assemble the sandwiches – Spread the filling on a slice of bread and top with another.
- Dip & cook – Coat in the egg mixture and pan-fry in butter until golden brown.
- Coat in cinnamon sugar – Immediately roll in a cinnamon-sugar mix while warm.
- Serve & enjoy – Top with syrup, whipped cream, and berries.
