1 (16 oz) package frozen potato and cheese pierogies
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 large onion, thinly sliced and caramelized
1 cup sour cream (or plain yogurt)
2 tablespoons butter, melted
¼ cup milk or cream (optional, for thinner sauce)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Arrange a single layer of frozen pierogies at the bottom of the dish.
- Spread caramelized onions evenly over the pierogies.
- Sprinkle with half the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
- Dollop sour cream across the top and drizzle with melted butter.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, ending with cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for another 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.
